I am concerned about EllieScared Are you sure she can cope with all that at once. Look what it's done to us. Ellie, if you are still manageing to keep up, a word of warning.
Your life will never be the same again. I am still shaking after the antics of Doreen and Julie never mind Jean. It was the affair with the Prince of Wales that did it for me (well, not the 'affair' - you know what I meanScared) There was I minding my own business when these hooligans - yes! I can only describe them as hooligans, caused havoc at the Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations. I had just completed a 17 1/2 gun salute when it happened. I am saying no more Ellie - Don't sasy you haven't been warned.

Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but as soon as that woman returns my spotted bloomers I am cracking on with plans for the diamond jubilee. I have perfected the zimmer throwing for the olympics but am very sad none of you have opted to join me

Sheila thanks for the warning but...too late, I'm hooked! RollEyes

I know I'm probably going to live to regret this but I was wondering if you all would include me in the Olympics? You see I'm rather good at archery and I do look rather stunning in Lincoln Green! I also excel in throwing things like shot-put, discus, tantrums etc., so you see I could be an asset. Unsure

Oh and by the way, just in case you lot were thinking of attending Royal Ascot - 'fascinators' are a no-no (royal decree, I think) and hemlines must be on or below the knee, so you may wish to reconsider that idea!

And...I don't think you should get any ideas about entering Neddy - who is going to ride him?

Must get on with that housework I should have done yesterday!
Confused

Yes! Hats only at Royal Ascot. We are ok in that department. We are all wearing our easter bonnets - yet to be made.ThumpUp How are you fixed Julie? I am putting my order in now. I want a diamond shaped creation with the diamond pointing upwards; a bit like the pretzelScared but much, much bigger. I think her Majesty will be impressed with my tribute to 70 years of 'reigning over us'. Let me know when you want me for a fitting Julie.Tongue You can put a few feathers on it too please. Doreen is so rubbish at feather throwing, they keep landing in my garden. I'll pop them in the post. Has anyone else decided on their 'bonnet' yet?

I hate to say this ladies, but the Diamond Jubilee comes before the Olympics, and I`m not manning the Ark Royal all by myself. Now it`s been refitted, we are still waiting for Julie`s knitted bunting. Hopefully Sheila will sure have managed to fire the cannon accurately by now........................................................won`t she?

Lincoln Green sounds lovely for the archery, Ellie - did you know I`m to be the starter for the sprints? I won`t be needed for the archery of course, but Doreen will be there or thereabouts with her disreputable tea trolley.

Sheila, I`m not sure about your hat - it does sound a little on the large side, and do remember what happened when I wore my lighthouse creation in the Abbey for The Wedding.

By the way Ellie, a word of warning - Eleanor is inclined to offer all who join us a piece of her Very Special Cake. You would be wise to take this only in very small quantities, as she uses highly unusual ingredients. We`re all used to it of course, so it`s effects on us are diminished, but it doesn`t half help Jean with her pole-dancing. All her neighbours have had to erect rotary driers - she just can`t help herself.

Oh yes Kathleen, I was aware that you were 'starter' for the sprints - that's why I thought I'd concentrate on field events (not that you make me nervous with that starting pistol, of course!) and it will be good to know that Doreen will be on hand with refreshments from her tea trolley (as long as she doesn't snag my tights with it - I've heard she had a bit of trouble controlling it in Trafalgar Square).

Ah! the famous cake Love

Well put it this way - I would love to try some and promise not to hold anyone accountable if I enjoy it and want more. Is it addictive? RollEyes

Right, I'm off to find my bow and arrows...

Smile

Come on Julie - do keep up! All the events are in chronological order, so the Diamond Jubilee comes before the Olympic games. There was a projected picture in the newspaper today of the Thames Pageant for the Jubilee - it didn`t actually have the Ark Royal in it, but as long as we all know it will be there on the day, with our good selves in position : Sheila at her cannon, Julie`s bunting flying high, Jean ready to shin up the funnel (no mast, so no pole, unfortunately), Eleanor and I looking decorous on the bridge, and Doreen trundling her trolley, accompanied by Dorothy and her owl, and Ellie with her bow and arrows, in case we need to fire a flare.

We`ll need more crew members I think - lots of jobs to do. It will be a bit of a rush to get ready for the Olympics so soon after, but I`m sure we`ll manage it.

Oh my goodness---so much to do---so little time to do it.
And please PLEASE promise that Jean will have her bloomers ON this time when she shins up the funnel.
